Things I've Been Doing:

Finally got a trim. I was in dire need since I hadn't had one for at least 6 months. I should be publically flogged, I know.
I've spent a little and saved a little. Soon I'll have to spend more in preparation for a little trip to the beach. I just bought a 1 gig mp3 player for super cheap and I can't wait to drag it around. Much easier than carrying a 400 cd case around.

(The title is a nod to my grandmother who gave my scrawny little mother-- always was tiny, always will be tiny-- that very nickname as a child. I'm sure it was irony. But, then, she was around during Auschwitz so you never can tell with my grandma... Did I mention that my family is twisted?)

I've gotten off topic and I haven't even started yet. What got me on my soapbox this week was a post by Michelle discussing a news program she heard about how state government (in Australia, I assume, because that is where she's from) is considering introducing weighing children at school and shaming parents into doing something about their overweight children. This set me off into a mini rant in her comments. Here's the sick part where I quote myself..

Can't say I overheard this because it was said right to me...

Male Manager: After spritzing himself with DKNY's fragrance Be Delicious Red (it looks like an apple), "So I not only sprayed myself in the eyes and mouth because the sprayer squirts up instead of out, but I also sprayed myself with women's perfume? Fantastic!"

Yes, we're always spritzing ourselves with our favorite perfumes at work. And sometimes each other.

Life has been crazy lately. Let me amend that. Work has been crazy lately. And money has been on my mind a lot.

First off, remember how I said people were leaving left and right? And the only other night part-time person in my section had left? Well, we just got a new hire. And guess who's training her? Yep, that'd be me. I'm hoping this means that I'm damn good and proven myself because they have her on my schedule and not on any of the nights that the full-time ladies are working.

No, I'm not actually dead. I just wish I were. Between work and allergies, my immune system was compromised, and now I sound like an 80 year old with a whiskey and 2 pack a day habit. It's as lovely as it sounds. Then I was blindsided by a severe migraine that made me miss a day and a half of work and wishing I missed another. But, in better news...

The Boy turned 10 two days ago.
